I went to Moab three weeks ago and cannot get the Red Clay dirt out of my tires... not that I have tried very hard.

I tried an 'instant' cleaner and still have Clay Red instead of Black tires.

Any Ideas on a good tire cleaner?

THX.

What, you don't wear your mud/dirt proudly??? C'mon, let it be, show the world you use your X as it was meant to be used.

Yeah, show off your mud and dirt proudly. Mud and dirt are your friends.

Red dirt is the coolest. Got plenty in here in OK.

Bleche(SP) White tire cleaner available at any auto parts store. Use with a stiff bristled brush.

Westleys bleche-wite will do a great job getting those tires black again. Some cautions tho - it is strong stuff. Wear rubber gloves and do not get the product on any other surface except for the tires. Read and understand the label.
After you're done, use whatever tire dressing you like.

dave and Xtoy - red tires, yech

I didn't mind the red the first few weeks, but after awhile it doesn't look so great...

Thanks for the tip!

I understand that colored tires are popular with rice boys and LA street gangs.

dave and Xtoy - black is OK

Had that with my Nissan 4x4 Pickup a few years back. We called the area (in the Meadowlands - NJ) Red Road - The dirt was actually clay that when heated from the exhaust system baked like ceramics do and sort of become welded to your truck. I know people that bring super soakers and wash it off as soon as they come out of the trail.
