What do ya'll use to remove the baked on brake dust from the front wheels? I've tried a few different "spray n wash brake dust removers" but it doesn't come off.

anybody have any suggestions?

A lot of times for many different cleaning issues (bugs splattered on front grill) I use Go-Jo cream hand cleaner. I smeared some on my wheels last time I began washing the truck and when I did the wheels the brake dust came off fairly easy. FYI, Go-Jo likes to be put on dry surfaces. Doesn't work as well if the surface to be cleaned is already wet.

A cleaner wax, like you may use on the paint could get the dust off. After you get the wheels clean, wax them whenever you wax the paint. The wax will act as a barrier and brake dust will not bond to the clear coat on the wheels.

dave and xtoy - or cover them with mud wink

I use Maquires hot shot wheel cleaner. I spray it on, let it sit about 10 mins and then hose it off. Hardly no effort at all.
