There has been some discussion on the removal of the sunroof latley. I have taken some pics to guide you through it. It is simple and takes less than a minute to do so.

The first pic shows the sunroof latch in the down position with my device to push the pin in place.

the next pic shows what pin I am pushing. this must be repeated for the opposite side. apply a little outward pressure to the first side you did so it does not go back in. when the second pin is pushed in the latch should pop out.

the last pic shows the sunroof in a verticle position. When in this position just pull toward the drivers side.

Reinstallation is easy but a little tricky. You must push down and push right while putting the roof back on to its hinges. It take a couple time to get the feel. good luck.

I thought, at least on the 2000 models, it was impossible to get the sunroof out without removing the rack. Once it was vertical the rack would interefer too much to slide it sideways. Are the 2001 models in a different position to allow for it to slide now?

2000 is the same as 2001. the rubber trim around the sunroof does rub, but it does squeeze thru. It takes a little pressure but not much to get it verticle.

None here. I've ran a garden hose over the top without any problems.
