In attempt to fix an annoying dash rattle, I am trying to gain access to all of the wiring. By the sound of the rattle, I am guessing that it is a wiring connector. The only part I didn't check yet was the area high in the dash. In order to gain access I have to remove the trim piece that surrounds the heater controls. I didn't try to take it off yet, I am waiting to hear from the forum members. Did anyone take it off, or does anyone know how to do it? Oh, and by the way, does anyone know if there is wiring behind there? Thanks in advance

Don't know if you'll find what you're looking for, but the description of how to take that big piece of can be found here:
http://home.us.net/~stimpy/xterra/misc/defrost.txt

But before you do, check that the rattle isn't from the most common "dash" rattle complaint cause to date, the cruise control cable that runs across the top of the engine at the back of the engine bay. It rattles inside the plastic guides. Secure it to the guide and see if that doesn't fix it.

Brent,
I already fixed that cruise control cable rattle. The new rattle has a higher pitch to it. It sounds like hard plastic against hard plastic. I'm guessing it is an electrical connector. Thanks again

LAST REPLY WRONG
YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE LOWER DASH TRIM
THEN THE INS. TRIM
THEN THE DEF. TRIM TO GET TO THE WIRES
