i am in the process of taking out the center console(armrest) and the console around the gear shifter. problem! i have the four bolts out. two on the driver side and two on the passenger side. but something is still keeping the plastic console around the gearshift in place! i think it may be the 12 volt plug?? can anyone confirm?? if so, how do i remoce the 12 volt plug?? i tried turning it and pulling it, nothing!!help!

The top of the center console near the gearshift if held in place by two plastic tabs that slide into the dash under the ashtray. Once you have removed the armrest section and all the bolts, you can gently tug on the sides of the console to pull it out. I have done this many times and not damaged the console.

The 12v socket was tricky for me at first. The actual socket remains in the console, but the wire disconnects from behind. You need to press a small tab on the wiring harness to release it.

thanks, i got it off! now, if i only could get that damn knog off the 4x4 shifter!!
