FLXX member Benny Davis donated the space to store our bearing packing tutorial. If you are interested, here is the link: http://homepage.mac.com/bennylen/readme.htm Hopefully this can be of some help to the rest of the maniacs out there who actually use their X's for what they were made for! Happy four wheeling! ------------------ Gordon "The Warmonger" White

I think there is something wrong with the movie link. It keeps saying that it can't find the home page I requested. Other than that I would like to be the first to say "Thank You" for putting your energy and time into this.

Actually that is my fault. The web page was taken directly from our forthcoming CD video on the subject and the link is a dead end link. So anyone looking for the video, don't bother. It's 159 Mbs and we're saving it for the CD release, sorry. ------------------ Gordon "The Warmonger" White [This message has been edited by warmonger (edited 05-02-2001).]

Wow, very well detailed and thorough. I now feel confident I can do this myself and save a few hundred bucks. What's a good source (online or otherwise) to get a bearing packer? Is it an AutoZone thing, or harder to find? What kind of availability is there on the seals; will I have to order from Nissan ahead of time, or do they stock them? ------------------ "got root?" Do yourself a favor. Get the bearing packer sold on your local Snap-On truck. I've probably packed 50 bearings by hand, maybe another 10 with the crappy Lisle tool, then I decided to get the one from the Snap-On guy. It was expensive $35 but worth every penny. Bearing packing now takes just about 5 seconds for a COMPLETE fill. AND it's reasonably clean. I cannot even describe how easy this is now. -Perrone ------------------ 1991 Range Rover 1986 BMW 325 Potential Unimog owner

Can't make a link with a URL that long it seems. The part # of that item is YA470A if you want to search. Click on one of the feature items on the main page to get to a search field at the top.

OK, that's just weird! I click Pnut's link and it comes up as $53.45. If you go to www.snapon.com , click on any featured item's part number, then search by part number for YA470A you will get it at $36.15. Not to mention, if you try and add it to your cart at $53 it doesn't work, but it will at $36, thank goodness. Brent [This message has been edited by OffroadX (edited 05-23-2001).]

That is bizarre, I just clicked my own link (above) and twice it registered the $36 price and once the $53....
What's up with that? I'd call them, just to be sure they aren't stealing $20 off ya!

The $53 is candian. There is a little Canadian flag in the top left corner.
