Anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, who thinks this is a good idea needs to be taken out and shot for the good of the country. What is it about liberals who advocate BREAKING THE LAW. These people, by thier very presence in our country, are breaking the law. Why do politicians insist on letting it pass. Isnt it ironic that those who we elect as "law makers" insist on allowing these immigration laws to be broken. It is such hypocracy. I am getting sick to my stomach thinking about how liberal judges and politicians are just circumventing our legal and political system by pandering to people for votes.

You would not believe the BS we went through with INS to get my wife from Britain legal and that was with a very INS expeienced laywer. The Mexicans just breaze through in no time...It took us about 3 yrs...mexicans spend about 3-6 months to become a legal alien. Also we had to go to a meeting with a mexican INS rep and answer all of her questions as she was verifying our marriage was not a business deal that is so commonly done.

There are very VERY few things an illegal should be entitled to when in the states...

Example - they get shot, they should be taken to a free public hospital and patched up. But then immediately taken to the boarder and shoved across. (Yes, I realize they are getting the care at our expense, but I don't think anyone should be just left there to die.)

Otherwise, they should not be entitled to any rights or priviledges enjoyed by people here legally.

No right to education
no right to work
no right to housing
no right to drive
no right to elective surgery (unless they pay for it ENTIRELY by themselves - and then, as above, immediately shipped out).

Tell them to go back home, go through the proper channels if they really want to be here.

The libs say that this will increase public safety because it will mean they have to pass a drivers test, and they will also be allowed to get insurance. Do they not get the fact that they should not be here to begin with? Do they not get the fact that many times a drivers license is all you need to get other documents? I don't know if any of you CA residents have noticed, but now they are creating legislation to waive college fees for illegals, while at the same time raising the price for citizens. A woman at the college said "Lost fees will not cost the other students anything because the state will pay them." If I ever catch this woman on the street I am going to beat the piss out of her for shear stupidity.

It takes more than just the taxpayer ID by the way. I believe it also requires a utility bill or some other proof of address.

Are the people that they are giving licenses to allready driving? Yes , it's just now they are driving illegally. This almost might work if the California DMV required PROOF of insurance before they issue a driver's license. That way at least it makes all drivers responsible.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Unchecked immigration in this state is one of the primary reasons for it's slow demise. The license issue is just the tip of the iceberg. The Davis camp pandering to the latino vote is rediculous. There are too many latino politicians that do not draw a distinction between legally residenct Mexicans and illegals.

This causes the backlash and crys of "racism" when laws such as Prop. 187 are proposed. The supporters of such legislation are targeted as anti-Mexican and anti-immigrant rights and are branded racists and that is used against them by Hispanic politicians.

If this is a step towards another round of amnesty and naturalization , so be it. Let's make taxpaing , contributing citizens out of people who are already benefiting from the system in a far greater degree than they are contributing.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS A FEDERAL PROBLEM!

States like Texas , Arizona and especially California are continuously saddled with the social and economic burdens of having to combat this problem singlehandedly. Why is it that the INS is represented in as little numbers as they are here? Why is it now considered illegal and a violation of civil rights for an INS agent to approach a suspected illegal and ask for proof of citizenship?

Why are our schools forced to educate , care for and provide social services BY THE SUPREME COURT'S DESCISION TO OVERTURN THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WHO OVERWHELMINGLY VOTED FOR PROP.187 ON THE GROUNDS THAT IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL? Yet, we continue to be burdened by the very weight of a population of 4 million people that are taking from but ot paying into the system. The federal government does not recognize illegals for state budget allowances yet , they do nothing to curb the flow of illegals into the country.

The fact of the matter is that the federal government chooses to look the other way as illegals stream across our border and expect states such as California to pick up the tab for schools, hospital care , and other social services.

Illegal immigrants provide services that most Americans will not do. They are willing to pick the food , clean the hotels , dig the ditches and do the other back breaking work that keeps labor and food costs down while the rest of the country benefits from the low food prices and cheap goods. Who else is going to pick the food for less than minimum wage? Clean your hotels , and do all the other jobs that we deem unfit? Not any of you I guarentee it.

Why aren't other Americans willing to encourage the federal government to be more agressive in their persuit of limiting access to the country to legal immigration only? Why aren't there 10,000 more INS agents along the border instead of the few that are doing the work now?

I am willing to pay more for food and services in order to pay less for insurance , medical care and have better schooling in this state. How many of you are willing to do the same so that the quality of life for myself and myfamily will improve? Yet , you are half , and some of you ,the entire country away and stand in judgement of a state that has no bearing on your life or your family other than our problems are making your life a little easier and cheaper.

So , along with all the complaining about our little state and all the problems that you fail or just choose to ignore all aspects of , try coming up with a few solutions. It's not as easy as it looks.

Now now...I have said before there are *some* things I lean more toward the right on.

Because everytime the subject is brought up, there are cries of racism across the land from the left. If it were up to me, the National Guard would patrol the border (both borders) 24/7. INS is overwhelmed and it seems to me that it is the left that always shoots down any legislation or attempt to make it more difficult to get into this country.

I believe that the cost of paying for all these illegals offsets the "low food prices and cheap goods".

None of these jobs are "unfit" in my opinion. Any honest job is honorable in my opinion. To tell you the truth I wouldnt do the job, not because its "below" me, but because I have qualifications that allow me to find other jobs that pay better. But I can tell you if the fit hit the shan and it came down to me either starving or cleaning toilets in a hotel or picking blueberries, I would do it. Which is better than these lazy welfare scum who sponge off the government when they are perfectly able to work.
Your "little" state has the 7th largest economy in the world. So dont tell me it has no bearing on the rest of us. A California license can be used in any state in the country as ID for services. Its not about getting stuff cheaper, its about the law and our Government encouraging it to be broken. I would gladly pay more for everything if it meant we would live safer without the threat of being overrun by illegals or blown up by terrorists.

This whole thing is a blatant grab at minority votes, nothing more.

The solution is simple. Secure the borders, and give the people already here amnesty. I have no problem with that at all. The Feds need to secure the boarders first though. I live in Texas, and the problems are just as bad here if not worse. I would not have a problem with stringing an electrified fence all the way across the boarder. We should militarize the borders both North and South. That would be genuine homeland security.

I also believe that a drivers license should not be used as the primary identification in this country. It should be the same as a social security card. My social security card says right there on it "not to be used for identification purposes." Yet when I look for a job , apply for a loan , buy a house , and fill out medical insurance papers , I either have to present it or use the number to identify myself.

Everyone wants the benefits of having illegal immigration but no one is willing to pay the associated costs. The Feds aren't doing anything to curb it or to assist the affected states with the financial resources to provide LEGALLY REQUIRED services to illegals.

Unfortunately the Supreme Court has mandated that the Bill Of Rights and the Consititution aplies to all INHABITANTS of the country as opposed to the citizenry.

Now that you mention it , isn't that an example of the liberal more government is better concept? Hmmmm. Isn't "homeland security" at the federal level the responsibility of the Coast Guard , the FBI , The INS and the U.S Customs service? Why do we need another beaurocrat instead of increasing the power and spectrum of responsibility of our existing departments and services?
