One thing I can always count on is the fact that every time I create a post.... the next time I check you have responded. Don't take that the wrong way. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I like consistency.

What makes you think that Republicans are pro-business? Isn't that one of the myths of the modern political system. Democrats are just as pro-business as any Republican. Any politician is pro whomever donates to his campaign coffers. Big business gives plenty of money to Democrats as well as Republicans. A big example would be Enron. They spread the cash around pretty equally among both parties. Even Bubba Clinton used to hang around with Ken Lay. A large corporation knows which side of the bread their butter is on. In a two party system, they butter both sides. The propaganda is that they were in bed with the Repubs... but that is not the truth. Big companies give cash to both so they would be in equal favor regardless of whom was in power. Some companies take sides but then again each would have an equal number to balance it out.

Democrats receive the majority of cash from businesses, lobbies, foundations, rich Democrats, etc. Republicans on the other hand receive the majority of money from individuals. Most people are not aware of this fact. The majority of $10,000 checks and over go to Democrats. The individual Republican voter has no problem sending in a check to a candidate they support. Some even send money to the RNC. The Democratic voter base today is what? You know the answer. A much smaller percentage of individuals sends checks to the Democrats.

Follow the money and you will follow the path to whom most polticians are beholden to. Why do you think a large reason the Democrats support social programs and government giveaways? It's one of the only ways they can hold on to their power base. Democrats are strangely hypocritical creatures considering the majority of millionaires who serve in Congress are...Democrats.

The Democrats are in bed with the environmentalists. That is more than obvious to anyone who follows politics like you and I. They also throw plenty of bones to their big corporate buddies too. The last administration continued de-regulation of the energy industry. As long as they were not building new power plants or nuclear reactors in the U.S. which would piss off their environmental friends.

To use Enron as an example again, I find it curious that no liberal ever mentions that the biggest excesses and abuses committed by that company were allowed to happen when the Democrats were in power. Enron was a company run by corrupt people. The guys at Enron also took huge advantage of a Democratic politician, namely Gray Davis. How come the Democrats in control of Washington never brought this up with Ken Lay as they were hobb-knobbing with him? Could it be the Democrats think the taxpayers are an inexhaustable source of revenue? Could be.

Republicans may appear pro-business to you because they are pro-capitalist. Certainly FAR MORE pro-capitalist than Democrats. Democrats support all sorts of socialism.... again as a means to hold onto power. Both parties have moved leftward (many Dems have moved very left) and that is disturbing.

The Energy Bill is not great. It brings back some level of regulation. Wouldn't you think the Dems would love regulation? It is Democrats that are against the bill. There is not enough Dem support for it to pass. I guess we will see moving forward in the next few weeks.

But one thing is for sure.... Where are the ideas from the Democratic side of the table? There are none except the usual environmental shit about conservation. Anyone with a brain knows that is bullshit and is not a plan.

I was surprised to discover that this is true. The average donation to the GOP is around $200.00...given by private individuals. There are two factors hurting the DEMs fund-raising right now. First, they have several candidates, which is spliting their base. Second, as a result of campaign finance reform their largest souce of cash is gone.
