That was in reference to the kid who posted first becuase he knew this was going to cause some trouble for him and now he is getting all defensive, you did what you did and you told us now deal with others opinions.

lol, the only thing im getting defensive about is the things that were comepletely irrelevent to the story, such as the truck being handed down to me and such.

looking at it now, yes i realize it was very stupid having a chase, and i see the consequences in doing so. so yes ill get the rest of it out of the way for you.

yes im a stupid piece of shit.
yes im a dumb fuck who is inconsiderate towards others, and doesn't take responsibility for his actions.

there, happy?because i sure am.

The only thing that would make me say you're a complete idiot is the fact it doesn't appear you knew the people.

We had "chases" when I was in high school, but it was always with someone we knew.

(Of course, I didn't have a truck then...I had a Barracuda...chasing (or being chased by) the likes of Chevys, Pontiacs and Fords.)

And yes...I know we were all idiots doing that.

(Then again, my mom *once* raced my friend's mom. A Chrysler Town & Country station wagon v. a Chevy Caprice wagon)

$240 a month for insurance on a 4wd SC Xterra seems suspect to me. When I was 18, 9 years ago, I had no tickets or accidents. I was paying $215 a month for liability insurance on a 1988, 2wd Ford Ranger. I still have 0 tickets or accidents that have ever been my fault. It seems to me that our little friend here is stretching the truth.

Am I the only one here that read this and thought "Oh well, kids are kids." I was seventeen once. I did some stupid stuff, y'know, alcohol and drugs, violence, irresponsible use of firearms, erratic driving, unprotected sex. The usual. This little "midnight chase" scenario seems kind of tame to me. Am I missing something? Were you guys doing drive-bys, or like running little old ladies down or something?

Impersonating a police officer? Dude, they ran a siren and fucked around with a spotlight as a prank. No shots were fired. They didn't put on uniforms to lure, kidnap and rape underage girls. This kid ain't exactly the criminal of the century here. Irresponsible? Yes. Stupid? Maybe. But a felon? Please.

The innocent victims...Ha!

No, your not the only one. I look back on some of the things I did as a kid and think of how incredibly stupid I was. And... the funniest thing about that is, when you are that age, you think you know everything.

you'd be suprised how much getting good grades, taking drivers ed, and watching the insurance video, will lower your insurance.

I'm sure all of us did some stupid shit being his age. Some of us have done even more than that.

Thik about it this way - so maybe it's his dad's truck, so what? It's still a good truck and it's still fun to drive! Maybe his dad paid for it, so what? In that case he's a little more fortunate than some of us that had to walk to school. I don't understand you guys.

Every time there's a kid on this site everyone starts talking about the car being his or not. Who cares??? Don't get me wrong - I understand where you guys are coming from. A lot of us here worked hard to pay for the Xterra and sometimes we don't like to see people just getting stuff that we have to work for. In the end though it doesn't matter who pays for it. It does not change a sigle fucking thing about what this site is about, about his truck, about the guy, whatever.

Yes, I pay for my Xterra and I work hard for it too. Being in Chicago, 21 years of age and not having insurance (in my name) before, things are getting expensive here. Before I bought the X I drove my dad's Maxima for 2.5 years, so??? STFU guys.

Whatever man, life is shot, shit. If there's time to do stupid shit - then do it while you're young. When you get older you can't afford to do it any more - too many fucking responsibilities to think about.

Make mistakes and learn from them - don't make them twice. Now, stay winthin reason, of course. I'm not telling you to drive 150mph in traffic while looking for a CD that fell and trying to argue with your g/f over the phone.

Maturity is for grown ups, and we grown ups know it ain't all it's cracked up to be sometimes so have some fun while you can.

No harm, no foul. Maybe even a lesson learned.

It's better than the kids running around w/ guns shootin each other for being in the wrong neighborhood.

When I first read the post I thought 'what an idiot'. Then I remembered the time in college we got really drunk and drove my buddies escort down the mountain, each taking turns 'surfing' on the roof. Was it the smartest thing I've ever done? Of COURSE not. Could any one of us have been hurt or killed? of COURSE. Should we have done it in the first place? Of COURSE not!

But it makes for one fun story for us to talk about 15 years later!

Just PLEASE do me one favor. Of all the mistakes I DON'T want to see you make...

Whatever you do please DO NOT WELD TRACTOR LIGHTS ON THE REAR HATCH OF YOUR XTERRA!!!
(it makes me shudder just THINKING about it)

one more thing...i have just read the badercarma thread in its entirety...how the hell am i even REMOTELY comparable to him, in any way?that was probably the most offensive thing said to me in this thread, lol.

Something about casting the first stone.

We did stuff a helluva lot worse than what's described when we were teens way back in the 80's....

I actually thought it was pretty funny that the POS Integra followed him out into the snow.

As for daddy's truck....I beat up my dad's Toyota regularly as a teen driver. Then I drove several POS's through college.

Maybe I just want to be 16 again..... [Freak] [Huh?]

Sounds like fun...some people just forget what it was like to be young or have regrets for not living while they were young.

It's true. Your generation tends to rationalize a bit too much. You'll be lucky to ever get out of mom's house with that attitude. [Finger]

It's true. I did stop and remember how I acted when I was young. Don't recall being that much of a horse's ass, though.

In short, troll elsewhere. And to quote another member of XOC - phuck-off. [Finger]

Wow, interesting thread...........I did some pretty stupid things in my day in my old mans '88 4runner (buried it a few times  ) and I ripped around in my moms car when I was a teen cause I wasn't paying for it......that the key, I wasn't paying for it .......obviously this kid has some shred of common sense as he see's how stupid his actions were, but he won't know how really stupid they were until he actually has to pay for an enitre vehicle, repairs, the works........not get a hand me down, but fork out 30 or 35 K for it..........until then he won't care......just like most of us didn't care what we did to our parents cars.......I look back at what I did to my moms poor car and cringe eek ........

Hey I was 18 when I bought my X, Me alone, no parents, and no co-signer so just cuz a kid has one doesnt just mean that it was handed down. And yes I pay for everything every month coming up to about $740
