Yes... the political indoctrination continues....

Xterrapin has said openly on this board that his parents were leftists. They took him to leftist political rallies from the time he was a toddler. They introduced him to such paragons of citizenry as Black Panther members and people like Abbie Hoffman. Childhood memories any leftist can be proud of.

Now the next generation of Xterrapin's is being introduced, or should I say indoctrinated, into the same political climate.... and what better place to raise such a fine young lad then in the political climate of San Francisco.

Xterrapin's son doesn't even yet know what a corporation is .... or what a business is .... or even the word macroeconomics. But at his very young age he obviously already knows that Walmart is an evil corporation. [Huh?]

Isn't it wonderful to see parents who provide the tools for their children to make up their own minds about the world around them. [Freak]

Diversity is wonderful, right xterrapin? As long as it doesn't include diversity of thought.

I can see that you look like a real tough guy xterrapin. Now I understand why you acted like one. [Freak]

Come on xterrapin.... Do you really believe all of the bullshit that you spew?

Extreme hard leftist political ideologies (most commonly known as communism and socialism) have killed more people in the past one hundred years than all of the deaths attributed to religion ever have across all of recorded human history.

If you want to rack up deaths associated with any one religion, an interesting fact is that the favorite religion of people of your political slant, Islam, is the reigning champion when it comes to historic death tolls (and that toll increases on a daily basis). A fact that seems to be lost on San Franciscans considering the number of pro-terrorist related rallies that occur in that city on a regular basis. Do you also attend those rallies?

Stop being such a hypocrite xterrapin. Also educate yourself on some facts instead of living by lies and propaganda.

You're also a closet capitalist. Stop pushing socialism... or is socialism OK as long as your comfortable lifestyle and bank account aren't touched?

Come out of the closet and embrace your capitalist self. Maybe you could start a new San Francisco trend. Instead of the usual SF coming out of the closet and embracing sodomy, you can come out of the closet and embrace capitalism. San Francisco needs that change. It needs that capitalist revolution. You can start that trend.

I'm counting on you. eek

Will we be seeing your son with a "Kill the infidels" shirt at your next rally?

(I actually came here to check the Soprano's thread).

Maybe now that Brent is back, I will come back more often. [Wave] If I have the time. smile

I was wondering how long it would take you to post that image I emailed you. I love that 12 Galaxies Guy, he cracks me up! Where is that video you had of him?

Why would you assume my son doesn't know about corporations? He fully understands why Wal Mart is bad for the country and what it does to small businesses. Did you forget where I was raised? I lived that shit firsthand.

Look like a "tough guy"? WTF does a tough guy look like? A cheerleader at Yale perhaps?

BTW: I'm a lil' disappointed you didn't notice my shirt. It's much cooler that my son's Sweat Shop shirt.

That is funny. I had a buddy that was a gymnast/cheerleader in high school. He used to kick the big bad football players asses on a regular basis.

Exactly. I like the fact that xterrapin stands up for what he believes, no matter how far out into space he is, but the protest and the things he says and does makes him and his cause look absolutely ridiculous. I say KEEP ON PROTESTING, you are only helping the other side. [ThumbsUp]

I'm still trying to figure out why everyone is against Wal-Mart. That store saved my hometown by employing 214 employees, an estimated 70 who were collecting food stamps and welfare before they went to work at the supercenter. One of our family friends who owned a butcher shop closed it to go to work for Wal-Mart because they could pay better, and he is not at all disappointed. Most of our smaller businesses haven't been affected either. They are all specialty stores and are doing quite well. I'd rather have a Wal-Mart in my hometown if it means more jobs and a better pay base and benefits for some of the people there.

In small towns where there are fewer employers and a lower cost of living they work better than in areas where there is a higher cost of living.

Plus, their large volume purchasing makes it very difficult for the speciality stores to survive.

I actually find it amusing that in the Ford and Chevy loving "Buy American" heartland, people happily march into Wallmart to buy everything they need from China by way of Wallmart.

I think that people go into Walmart for the convenience and the one stop shopping.

You know, I can't really say that WalMart has damaged the "mom and pop" store business as much as the internet. I rarely buy anything locally other than food, gas, or small things like batteries, toiletries, etc. The free market economy is just that. Every business has the same opportunity. Hell, WalMart started out as a mom and pop store. It's like hating Bill Gates or Steve Jobs or Dave Thomas. Just because you lack vision dosn't mean that someone else is the reason for your failure.

I remember when Wally first opened. Their slogan was (I'm pretty sure) " Everything..Made in America".

Was it a sincere plan or was it foreknowledge that soon to be, little would be made in America? They would have an "in" to sell the cheapest at the cheapest and dominate? Do they now sell goods made overseas that are also "Made in America"? Probably.

BTW, nice thread for a relaxing drink. (Some foreign sounding vodka brewed in America.)
