She's getting there!

After about one year with the lift, my steering was all over the road, freakin' steering wheel would shake right out of my hands.

Yeah, so I finally got the funds together to get my Calmini steering system, drove almost 3 hours up to Barstow to meet Axle to slap it on. He did some awesome work. Just awesome. Thanks again!

I was so stoked!....so, on the way back I started thinking, "Sure is a lot of space left in the wheel wells with these worn out 31's...Why not add some new meats to go along with it?"

So, I cranked up the front another inch, slapped on some brand spankin' new 32" BFG AT/KO's and here's the results...(Sorry about the driveway shots...should've warned you all!)

(couple more pics on my Cardomain site)

Took 'er out to a local shop and she aligned up great. I can't wait to get 'er out in the dirt!

Next up, sliders, so's I can lose these cheesy step rails and get the full effect of the lift! I think I need to bash these up good, so I have a good excuse!

I'm stoked. I liked the whir of my MT's for a while, but it was getting annoying on the highway...now I can hear the radio, and the low "grrr" of the dual exhaust even better too! The ride is so smooth thanks to the steering system too...It's solid stuff!

Your X looks great. Good choice of tires as well.

Axle sure is busy with the installs. He is a great supporter of the Xterra community.

Thanks for the comments all!

No worries Johnny, it was good to meet you. I think seeing how good the AT's looked on your truck really got me thinkin' hard on the way back! (Oh, and I would have been first if I had just followed the darn directions and not tried to take a shortcut...it took me 30 minutes out of my way!)

Xterrian, sorry I didn't get to meet you. I never met you in Hawaii either...lot of "near misses" huh? wink I guess we never really made this install public, it was kinda shot from the hip.

Looks great! Looks a lot like mine, minus the lift. What's next? Sliders?

Glad you're happy with the steering. Really looks good withe the new tires. Are you going to get the stabilizer put back on?

The easiest way to do it would be take it down to your local fab shop and have them weld that bracket to the frame about 2 inches forward of where it originally was. That should give you plenty of room for them center link to clear it and keep the stabilizer relatively parralel with the CL. I would say drill new holes and bolt it in but I think that powere steering unit will be in the way there.
