I just got my sliders yesterday and put them on today. I thought I'd try something other than the Shrockworks. These are by Rocky Road Outfitters and have a couple of differences from the Shrockworks. The best is the price, $359 for the pair.

Obvious design difference between the rails and round bar.

The rail ends are cut at 45 degrees instead of 90

And they fit higher and closer to the body

And two more pictures. The lighting wasn't great-too close to sunset. They also make these for the 2nd Gen X. I'm excited to test them out!

cool Man, that looks like awful tight angles, for using the Hi-lift--

--Have you tried standing on them yet ??

--Moving for and aft, might be a little tricky--

I cared more about the extra clearance than the use as steps. Even with the stock rails, which stick out further than any slider set, I would have to open the door and stand on the inside floor to acces the roof. I couldn't get enough leverage with the doors closed. I think the stock step rails were always more to "beef" up the looks than to be functional!

cool Well, I think I kinda understand, where you're coming from--

--I think we have two different, philosophies, see with my Shrockworks sliders, I can stand easily on them, walk all the way from drivers side, to pass-side without touching the ground and can use my Hilift jack, STRAIGHT UP, fore and aft on these sliders, without endangering the X body with contact--

--

--I didn't know that you were refering to STOCK steps--But, if you're happy with your sliders, thats what counts--Happy New Year--JIMBO

Those look really nice. Are those what they call the "super-sliders?" Their web site still says the Xterra stuff is coming soon. Look like a high quality product, and even have a lifetime warranty against ever bending or breaking. And they have gussets which are nice.

Are the pieces between the square and round tubing solid or tubing?

Let us know how they work out for ya after you really try them on something.

Look pretty good!

BUT what looks better is the floor that those are on!

Is that your garage? If so, what kind of flooring did you use?

Those look really good!!
I'm a little leery about how close they are to the body when off camber, the body has some shift in it, curious to see if anything happens.

Yeah, those are the "super sliders" on their website. They just started making these this year and haven't updated the site.

They aren't as close as they seem. The lighting is really poor and doesn't show that there still is a gap between the sliders and the body. I can still easily run my hand along the pinch seam between the bottom rails and the round tubing. I would be really suprised if the body shifts that much!

The metal between the tubes is solid flat hitch steel. I feel confident that I won't have problems considering the mentioned lifetime warranty against bending or breaking from the manufacturer. They could stick out a little further, but I also drive my truck sometimes when I have nice clothes on and appreciate not having something adding mud and other wetness to the back of my breaches when I get out.
