After a long diatribe with Merchants/Tire Kingdom, I'm pleased to announce that they will honor the deal on their website - if you're persistent.

Here's what happened - last weekend I decided to take the X in for BFG A/T KO, and upsized to P265/75R16. I checked their website first, which states free mounting, free lifetime tire rotation, tire guarantee, etc. Also, their price per tire for this size is advertised as $139.99. With this information I headed up to Northern VA and a Merchants that had the BFG's in stock.

I got my bill, and was charged $22.99 per tire for installation fees, and $10 disposal fee (even though I took my Grabbers with me). Since the salesperson flat lied about the $10 fee, I chose to deal with Merchants customer service, rather than the store manager.

To make a long story short, I was credited both installation fee and disposal fee, effectively walking out the door with four new BFGs for about $596. Shopping around, this is just about as good as it gets.

My suggestion - use the tirekingdom website and print both their homepage that lists everything free, and the quoted price for the tires you want, and take that to the store with you. If they refuse to honor the price, threaten to complain to both the Better Business Bureau and consumer advocacy groups. I would do so quickly - you never know when the website might be fixed.

265(mm) is the width.

75% is the aspect ratio

16" is the rim height.

Nope, those are usually 32" x 10.5"s.

I paid $550.00 for my BFG AT KO 265/75/16's mounted balanced ect... out the door from Merchants a little while ago. Great price and good company to do business with.
