you could go larger, but your spare would need to be *flat*!

Yes, but it will hang down too far, and you won't like it. ------------------ Join the Xterra Offroad Webring 2000 Aztec Red 4x4 V-6 XE-3Pak www.xterra4x4.com

If you put 32x10.50 tires on your X you would probably be happier w/ the spare underneath (as opposed to 11.50's), otherwise Schlud is right. You'll drag your spare over everything. ------------------ Vikram/gothamist -- MAXC member http://www.4x4LO.com

I'm planning on putting BFG MT 32x10.50x15's too. By raising the torsion bar by 1.5 inches and cutting parts of the front mud flaps is that all that is needs to be done? I wouldn't want any rubbing anywhere.

BFG doesn't actually make a 32x10.50 MT, except for the 265/75R16, which is a metric equivalent. You will rub with those tires, in the back, on the fuel line cover in the right wheelwell, unless you never disconnect the rear swaybar. You will also rub that cover with 31's, though, so I wouldn't worry about it. You should be fine in the front. ------------------ Vikram/gothamist -- MAXC member http://www.4x4LO.com

i have not had rubbing issues, save in the rear portion of the front driver side wheelwell - but no big deal. in the rear, i installed 2" shackle extensions and have no problems with rubbing even in harsh conditions. i am running 32s.

I really want those 32" BF muds 32x11.5x15, BUT I like where the spare tire is now (don't want to get a rack on top to carry the spare, or stick inside the back, I need the room.. So as compared to what I have now ( the long trails stock tire), Gothamist mentioned the 32x11.5x15 would hang low.. Would it be only about an inch lower or like 3 inches?? I will be instaling my 2" SLR shackles this week and already torqued the front 2 inches... I don't get as crazy as I saw you guys get in those pics, But I do like to have Fun... Oh what to DO... maybe 31's , eek anyone have any pics ? K..

It will only hang down about another inch compared to the stock spare...maybe it's just me but I dragged my (stock) spare through the mud and rocks all the time when it was there. I wouldn't let worries about the spare change what size tire you wish to get. If you leave it on the bottom, just be aware of the danger (which some perceive to be greater than others) of puncturing your spare, not to mention the difficulty of retrieving it if you get stuck w/ a flat in a tricky (or muddy) situation. ------------------ Vikram/gothamist -- MAXC member http://www.4x4LO.com

I have a 31x10.50 AT/KO underneath with a tow hitch. And my tow hitch is bent in about an inch from getting rear ended. ------------------ Chris McCracken "He who dies with the most toys ...WINS!" Join the Heartland Xterra Owners Club www.hxoc.net

Dan, (or anybody)
Would you say there is room for the 32" in your opinion?
