Does anyone know for sure if the Rancho shocks can be mounted upside down? If they can be, wouldnt that alleviate the problem with the rear sway bar denting the shock body?

They can be mounted upside down, however you will still hit the swaybar.

I really wouldn't be concerned about ditching the swaybar.

Your right goth.....just installed and took it for a test ride. Dont even miss the rear sway bar. little to no difference at all. The Ranchos compensate very well.

Glad to hear you are happy w/ them! As has been mentioned before on the boards, the overall body roll of the X hinges far more on the front swaybars being attached than the back...

So.. does it drive exactly the same as it did with the sway bar and stock shocks? Does it feel stiffer in the rear due to the new shocks?

I guess even if it does ride the same, you have gained articulation..

yeah those are good question also do you have any new wide shots of your x with the new shackles? is your torsion bar still crancked to keep the front level with the rear?

your ride looks great. cool web site too.

I took my rear anti-sway bar off last night and I'm happy with the results. I had a near-panic turn to avoid a shi**y driver on the freeway this morning and it handled just as it did with it on. I have my Ranchos set on '4' so that probably helped keep it from swaying too far.

Thanks Steinism.
Goth has some great coverage of the shackle install and articulation.
