In my current search for new tires I've noticed that practically every 32" tire is only "approved" for rims that are 8" or more wide. Can I just ignore this? confused I know many of you run 32x11.5x15 on stock 15x7 rims, and I just wanted to be sure I wasn't getting myself into trouble by getting an 11.5" wide tire. Why does everyone use them if they are not approved?
Thanks.

We all live on the edge smile

I use them because there are no 8" wide wheels with the correct offset for the Xterra, unless they are custom made.

No problems so far for myself, or anyone else that I know.

Race trucks (even without bead locks) run 35x12.5 tires on 7" rims, to protect the rim.

Thanks, that answers my question! I guess most tire shops will put those wider tires on, even though they aren't approved?

Discount tires had no problems mounting 32x11.5's to my 7 inch rims.
Some shops may not do it.

My truck has 33x12.5 on 8.5in. rims and no problems. It did take awhile to find a shop to mount them "against the rules". I consider it more of just a guideline. Do what ya want.
