I was wondering if I need any kind of suspension lift or body lift to run some 16X8.25 rims with 265/70R16 tires on my XE 4WD 2001? And if I don’t, what is the biggest tire I can put on with those rims?

Those are the stock size tire on the 2001 SE. Not sure how those wheels and their offset/backspacing will throw a wrench in the works though.

I see
I didn't know since my stock size is 235/70R15.

What about 16X8 wheels and 275/70R16 will that work with out any type of lift?

265/75R16 is the largest I would put on without a lift and I would do it on stock rims. If you change the backspacing there is a good chance you will rub the sheetmetal on the rear wheel wells under compression.

Ok. Then, what should I do if I want to go with those 275/70R16's I mentioned before?

If you want 275/70s, get a set of stock 16" wheels. The chances of finding an aftermarket wheel that will work are slim.

OK, obviously I don't know shit about tires wheel and suspension. I have decided to get the Calmini 3'' lift kit; having said that, what tire will fit down there with an after market wheel? (I am planning to get the Jao's Victron Excel pro II 16x8) I thank you all for your help and patience.

Hey guys, I see how everything works. I was asking the wrong questions to the right people. I have done research for a while now, and I see how people can get annoyed from over asked questions; specially the tire size one, I even hate that question now. But don’t get me wrong if I still say that the search was a little hard though. wink

So lets star over again. As I said before, I was asking the wrong question. The deal is that I am getting some after market wheels for the X and they are 16X8 offset 25mm (they are the JAOS Victron Excel II pro in gun metal, if any body wanted to know). From the search I have done, it looks that they will work pretty well. Moreover I will also get the Calmini 3’’ suspension lift kit. The question is: that I am still not sure what shoes to put on the X? I am looking into the 275/70R16 – 32X11 range or can I go bigger? Ahh and of course they have to be either MT’s or AT’s. So hook me up guys, and give me some tire choices. I can’t wait to fix the X. Remember it is a 2001-4WD XE Manual.

I have the Jaos Victron II Excel on my Xterra and they are on BFG AT 265/75/16 and no lift kit ... there is rubbing but only on narrow turns ... can be fixed by a little trim ... but if you dont want to trim then a lift kit is fine
