Hi, to the risk of getting flamed, I will post this question... I've been reading all the threads regarding this, and I found lots of good info, but it's sometimes confusing from 1 thread to the next, so here it is anyway:

My X is 2001 4X4 with 15" wheels, I want to put 32"X10.5 tires on my 15" wheels and get away from any lift if possible. If I put the Calmini 1-1/2" shackles and tweak the t-bars(no-more than 1" to 1-1/4" from what I've read) (can you tell I'm on a budget?!), and do the plastic trimming, will they rub? Will the X look kind of diving from the front too much? Would you recommend the add a leaf instead of the shackles? (they both lift 1-1/2").

Thanks a lot for the answers for this 1000th thread on the question.

in case you are offended by the question, in all the threads I've read, some guys say they need the shackles and t-bar tweak even on 31", some say they didn't do anything but trim on 32"..., I just want to know specifically for the 15" wheels. Yes I'll be wheelin' with this...)

Well I can tell my experience. I have the BFG MT's in 32" on with the AAl's and the 2" shackles. I also have the T-bar tweak in the front. When off road, when flexing, I still get some rubbing in the back. I did trim up front and I only get some rubbing when turning all the way to the steering stops. smile

There are no 32x10.50 tires that I know of. Do you mean 31x10.50 or 32x11.50? Either one will fit without a lift and you can even have mudflaps if you switch to the 2002 type. I have 32x11.50R15s on my 2000 Xterra with nothing more than a little t-bar adjustment. With 32s, rubbing in the rear is limited to the useless plastic fuel filler line cover at max compression, and the front is only at max compression on the plastic fender liner. Both are harmless. Of course you will have to trim up front a bit, but absolutely no added lift bits are needed.

Interco lists a 32x10.5x15 TSL Radial on their website. OK4wd shows them as available on their website as well.

thanks again for the answers. I meant 32X11.5 BFG AT KO, thanks for correcting.

Hey Powerguy38, so with the shackles and aal on the back, you lifted about 3-1/2" right? and the front with t-bar only about 1". How does is look like, diving quite a bit on the front or not really?

OffroadX, are you talking about trimming plastic or sheet metal? If plastic, I'm getting the 32" for sure, otherwise the 31"...

Thanks again smile

No sheet metal trimming needed for 32s. Not even for 33s with a proper lift and possibly completely removing the plastic flares that would otherwise be trimmed for 32s.

Well, I hope I don't add any confusion to this, especially for my first post. I am going to be doing a tire upgrade shortly and had all but decided on 31s. But, then I started thinking that 32s might be the answer in case I want to do any lifting of m X in the near future. At first, I thought there would be no way to fit 32s under a stock 2000 Xterra (didn't the wheel wells get bigger in 2001 or 2002?) But, according to OffroadX, I can basically do it with a bit of trimming and a T-bar adjustment.
My questions are 1) How much power can I expect to lose with 32s. I live in Colorado and do a good bit of high altitude driving. So, power is already at a premium. Is it going to feel overly weak? 2) What adjustment is needed for the T-Bar
And, in case your wondering, I am leaning toward BFG ATs at this point. The Goodyear MTRs are my second choice, but I don't do a lot in the mud, so that may be overkill for a vehicle I put 12k+ on a year.

Ian can probably best answer your question about power and altitude in CO. Down here in MD I don't really consider it a big deal, it still gets around well enough for my needs.
