I just checked my PSI after 10 days of ownership (mistake). I assumed that the dealer followed the rating written right on the tire that says MAX PSI 35.

Well, when I checked I had a whopping 42 PSI in all 4 of my tires. Guess the guy did the good old eye em up technique.

I took them down to 34 front and 33 rear. See how that works for me. Moral of the story... well I'm sure you all know how dealers are.

The horrible rattling of your teeth didn't give it away? wink

When I bought mine I got a neck ache after about 20 min on the sh*tty SF/Bay Area freeways. 40+ psi will do that.

You can probably go even a tad lower if those are the stock tires you're referring to.

My first truck/4wd I've owned... I thought the teeth rattling was a part of the deal. laugh

Yeah, stock tires. I thought I would try 34 and 33 to start... then go from there. I do a lot of highway driving (to and from work is 20mi highway each way).

You should not inflate the tires to the MAX pressure as stated on the sidewall unless you are loading that axle to the maximum weight that pressure is meant to support. If the tire says max load 1500 lbs. @ 35 psi, then that would mean that if you would use 35 psi if you have 3000 lbs. on the axle which is about 1000 lbs. over the normal axle weight if it had a 50/50 weight ratio.

Check your door jamb for the proper inflation pressure of the stock tires, and adjust to suit your taste by a few psi up or down from there.

Well I just ran 33.5 in the front and 32 in the rear and my ride was a lot smoother.
