What is the best street tire, not off road tire?

I am looking for a 31 x 10.5 tire on a 15" rim.

I have a 1988 nissan pathfinder that I don't off road. I am looking for street performance. Good dry and wet tires. I want the tires to last at least 40K-50K.

Pardon my ignorance, but if you want street performance why would you go for a 31 inch tire on a 15 inch wheel ? Wouldn't stock size give you better street performance ?

Or maybe even smaller profile than stock, (i.e. less rolling resistance), idealy on a larger rim.

I understand your situation so... I have heard good things about the Goodyear wrangler line. They are supposedly good street tires and last a long time. Michelin also just released a new SUV tire, its probably REALLY expensive tho.

i think the 31" tire is stock on the older pathfinder SE that pathfinder has.

i like my stock bfg long trail tires or the rugged trail (looks a bit tougher) for the street. they work well on the street- although the long trails squeek on pavement sometimes...

BEFORE I PURCHASED MY XTERRA I HAD A 1988 PATHFINDER AND I HAD BF GOODRICH LONG TRAIL TA 30X 9.50 15 THEY WERE GREAT ON THE HIGHWAY .MY FATHER IN LAW BROUGHT MY TRUCK THE TIRES HAVE 25000 MILES ON THEM AND STILL GOING. :rolleyes:
