I searched and couldn't find an older thread that gave a good enough answer. I just bought as set of Bridgestone Revo's, LT265/75R16. I thought I was buying load range C but dicovered after I got home that they were E. I've only driven the 5 miles back home so I'm sure I could get them replaced. So my question is: Is it practical to use an E range tire for an Xterra that will not tow but will from time-to-time carry off road loads of gear? Thanks.

I would say you will be fine, if you are worried about it not being enough it is just the opposite the E is rated for 3400 lbs while the comparable revo C is only rated for 2400 lbs.

So it is more than enough.
