guys i am going to be putting a set of p265/75/r16's on my X, As I understand it they fit fine except for the plastic that holds the mud flaps on. Is there anyway to trim that plastic while keeping the mudflaps?? as much as i drive on gravel they really help the paint stay nice.

I have 33x12.50's and just cut the plastic lips off the mud flaps. Mine's a 2000 and with trimming, they are just fine.

you can get the 2002 - 2004 mudflaps. They are a diredt bolt on replacement, and already clear 31" tires. They may even clear 32", I am running 31's with lots of room to spare.

for street driving the flaps can stay...if you go off road, they get ripped off as the tires come down on the other side of stuff...so, you can leave them on for daily driver duty, and take them off when leaving the pavement, or just leave them on and let them self adjust as appropriate.
