#285161 - 08/10/05 02:17 PM Dumb Spare Tire Question

I have finally decided to upgrade the tires on my 2005 X OR. The primary reason I purchased the vehicle is for getting back and forth to work during inclimate weather (snow). I don't plan on doing any hard-core offroading....yet.

Question is this: is it OK not to upgrade the spare and keep the original tire (the BGF Rugged Trail) and a spare so I don't have to buy an extra tire? I am going to upgrade to Bridgestone Dueler Revos as my main tires.

Thanks in advance.

If you are going with the same size tires there is no problem with keeping the Rugged Trail as a spare.

This would only be an issue if you were changing tire sizes or you plan on using the spare in your tire rotation.

You will like the Revos a lot better than the Rugged Trails.

I will make sure I keep the same size.

Thanks for the insight!

I believe the owner's manual says that you shouldn't include the spare in the tire rotation. the spare doesn't have the tire air pressure sensor in it.

Understood - I have no intentions on putting the spare in the rotation. I would only use it in an emergency.

Thanks
