I have the standard 2000 SE Stereo/CD/Cassette player. Just a couple of weeks ago, the CD player started acting funny. It will play some CDs, but not others. It doesn't seem to matter if it is a burned CD or not. On the CDs that it does play, it will play a few seconds, then it sounds like a record scratching, play a few more seconds, then more record scratching. Eventually it will stop reading the CD and eject it. I have tried cleaning the lens, but it did not seem to help. Any other suggestions before I take it to the dealer?

yes, I would take it to the dealer and let them see what the problem is, if the problem is fixable, and they won't charge you a whole lot, I would let them repair it, but on the other hand, if the problem is fixable but they charge you a arm and a leg to repair it, then I think you would be better off replacing it with an after market CD player for the money...Good Luck
