Hey Guys, I'm a newbie here with a hopefully not-so-serious stereo problem. I have installed a 2channel mtx amp to push sony xplod 6X9 3way's in the rear factory locations. Also, i have integrated an 8inch amplified bazooka tube. Note i have not modified the front speakers at all...yet. I have both amps running off of the rear speaker level inputs from the factory 2000 SE head unit. When I turn up the volume to 80%, after a few seconds i get no sound, nada. The head unit still runs the cd and the display keeps going. I get no sound out of the bazooka, rear 6X9's, or front stock speakers. The only way to turn the sound back on is to turn down the volume, turn off the engine, and start up again. Could the amps be drawing too much power from the head unit?

I plan on getting a new cd player soon which i think would fix the problem, but i'd still like to know what's wrong!
