This is a great place for stockers and slightly moded guys to play. Plenty of stuff for the big boys to play on too...

PigPen!!!! (I'm jose from ftw.com. I had the blue F150 that we sank 2 yrs ago.)

Anybody thinking about should drop everything and do this. A great place to wheel and lots of cool people. This place is reasonable friendly to stock vehicles and plenty chalenging to modified rigs.

That being said, I can't go cause I have mandatory work. Give more advance notice next time.

Next time I will try and give more notice. I forget about this board sometimes, cause every time I post a run there, no one wants to go... I guess there are no Xterras in Iowa. confused
It is going to be a sloppy mess there from the reports I have gotten, so it should be a blast! [ThumbsUp]

This you?
Got strap?

Cmon now....the water is barely up to your step bars. I was submerged over my headlight. I actually had to be dragged out forwards cause pulling form behind was dragging my engine deeper into the hole. To make the extraction even more difficult, I couldn't turn the truck on cause the sunken corner is where my air intake was. My filter was bone dry afterwards, but I couldn't risk it.

What a blast! Muddy, but not too bad. I sure hope some of you Xterra guys that are local to 600 Acres can make a run some time. This is a great place to hone your skills.

None from this run. I was too busy driving and pulling Jeeps out. Also, I decided not to risk taking the Digi cam out because of the mud. There are pices in my webshot folders from runs there though.

Hey, I just got my X a month ago. Im from Iowa city, 20 mins from Hoosier Creek. Went there alone this weekend to check it out. Had a lot of fun. Then picked the wrong mudhole. Had to find some guys to pull me out. If you guys ever come back to visit let me know.

I am interested in going out there when i get the time. Is the camping near by?? i would probaly pull my camper out there for the weekend and do some wheeling.

Maybe we should post it on mxo and get a group thing going out there.

There will probably be a run there in Sept. No date set yet, but everyone is doing mods to their rigs that will need to be tested and Hoosier is a good place for it. There is camping on the other side of Lake McBride, but I have never used it and don't know anything about it. If you do a web search for Lake McBride in Iowa I'm sure you can find something.

We are going to be having our annual "Turkey Run" on the 4th a Hoosier Creek. Everyone is invited to come play. We will be meeting around 8 - 9, wheel till 11 - 12 then have a BBQ in the parking lot. We will then go back out till dark and call it a day.

Thats a long haul for a one day xcursion for me. 3 Hours. Granted, thats about how far the Badlands are for me too. Maybe thats why I never go on one day runs to the Badlands. Maybe we should set something up where we all meet out at a place Friday night, camp, wheel Saturday, and go home Sunday..........Don't think I'm in for this run.

We are hashing out the final date right now, found out it is opening weekend for deer that weekend in Iowa and some of the club members will be hunting. I'll post up again when we get a firm date going.

Is Hoosier Creek the one north of Iowa city, on Mcbride lake?
If so, count me In. It will give me an excuse to hurry up and do my mods.
This is 12-4-04?

Yup, thats it... sometimes called Hoosier Creek and sometimes 600 Acres...

The run is not a go, too many deer hunters want to get a deer that weekend so we are in the planning stages for a "Santa Run"... not sure on dates, but I'll post up when we get it all worked out.

OK, since the winter run was a bust and noone could attend, I'm trying to get a "Clean Up" run setup for around the end March beginning of April sometime. Anyone interested?
