so I've moved it out by one day to save some cash.)

Well, we got the final final word that the house is sold and will be financed for the buyer so it's a completely done deal now. Woohoo!

Unfortunately, the packing begins tomorrow... but it's more than worth it!

So...I gotta put the feelers out again, anybody like pizza and beverages?

I have one buddy who committed to helping unload on 5/3 (Saturday) all our stuff at a storage unit, but I'm thinking a couple more bodies might be great.

Seriously, anyone who's up for lending a hand (and isn't doing anything that day - like work) I'd be very very grateful - and more than willing to return that type of favor in the future.

Please note I have zero hide-a-beds and no super large "back-breaker" things. We've sold or donated a ton of furniture and rarely-used things so it'll be a relatively smaller load considering our house is almost 2000 sq ft. Every "significantly large" item we have left will be just a two-person effort. (and an easy effort at that.)

Anyway, just yell if you think you might be able or willing to assist. Thanks in advance!!

Leaving work around 4pm that day, if you're looking for some late afternoon- early evening help, I can make it. If you're talking mid-day, I can't be there.

What part of town will you be unloading in and where have you decided to buy?

So it's not yet finalized but it looks like we're gonna get an apartment in Scottsdale on the east side of 101. It looks like the one we're after also has a one car garage so the big stuff may only need to be moved about 10 feet from the truck to the garage. (Thank goodness...)

I'll post when I know for sure, but that's what it's looking like.

Please note the change of date. Moving it from Fri the 2nd to Saturday the 3rd to save some cash. Truck company wants an additional $650 to give me the truck on my planned day. Moving it out saves me almost a third of the cost. I will confirm this (IT'S CONFIRMED! 5/3 IT IS!) in the next 48 hrs.

I figure a non-work day might help me get more takers too.

Especially with the no hide-a-beds clause. One story, right?

Hi All,

Just wanted to check back in again and see who might be available to get a little exercise on Saturday. The day is approaching quickly so I wanted to make sure I get in contact with everyone who's able to make it. (Even if for a short time - it's still great!).

I'm still leaving on Friday and unloading on Saturday. I think the earliest I can unload is 9 or 9:30 on Saturday when I get the keys.

Anyway, now that the day is almost here, can those of you who are thinking you'd be able to make it (or maybe make it) reply here and I'll PM you all the necessary info/phone numbers/address/etc? I'll get back to you tomorrow at some point with a PM or email.

Well, I made it here in one piece.

730ish miles, 13 hours, I'm pooped.

Some good news for those of you assisting tomorrow - I unloaded about 1/3 of the truck after I arrived. There's still a number of things that require 2 people, but a lot of the little stuff is now outa the way.

I'd tell any of you to call me on the new number, but all our telephones are still hooked up in San Jose. Doh! (You can reach me on my cell though).

So my other buddy (non-Xterra buddy) is going to help as well, but isn't able to come over until noonish - regardless, anyone that wants to come over around 9 or 9:30ish, feel free to. You won't miss the 1/4-football field length Ryder truck out front.

Well, I was able to unload almost everything by myself by around noon. I had a buddy who I worked with in CA come by and help with the rest.

Mike and Marshall - thanks for checking in and I'm pleased to have been able to tell you there's no back-breaking work left for you.

Brian - I had no way of getting ahold of you, but if you're checking the board, thanks for the initial offer - everything turned out great.

I stopped by John's this afternoon, he was all done. I felt bad, but I was in the middle of moving my parents.

He was all done!! Just him and one other guy!

He didn't even look tired, which actually I'm mad about. I mean if you are going to unload a truck like that by yourself at least have the decency to look freakin tired.

He seemed like a great guy and will be a great addition to the club, I'm sure.

I have only met John once and spoken to him a little bit at the Last WestX... and even at that i can vouch for the Guy... definately a great asset to the Club... at the very least he can offset my return a bit
