I've seen the pictures of the road to the peak.
Where do you start? How do you get there? We are in Yarnell so that would be a good day trip for us.
John.

craig, yarnell ain't to far from ya...

to get to harquahala peak from yarnell;
71 south to aguila
60 west to eagle eye road (not far west of 71)
eagle eye road south to park entrance (about 18 mipes or so south of 60)

to road is easy, though very (very as in VERY) steep in places towards the top. the park service states 4x4 only - 2x4 can rip up the road trying to ascend the steep spots.

Cool, Yarnell. We can have a place to stop and say howdy in that part of the state.

Harquahala was my first outing but Ryan is the one who went over the top. It was the Maytag's first recovery operation too now that I think about it.

But the smile on your face as you came out of the cab hollering 'take pictures' has been my inspiration ever since.
