So im sitting here in my home office, I get a "Courtesy Call" from Douglas Nissan. they just bought huntington beach nissan(where i bought my X) and wanted to call to let everyone know that they are a better company(hb nissan blew)

I start chatting with the sales man about XOC, WESTX etc.

what happened next was nothing short of stunning:

Salesman:"do you know that Arizona has a Xterra club?"

Me:"yeah, im actually still a member... sort of"

Salesman:"they saved my ass"

Me:"What... how?"

Salesman:"I had this toyota truck and was hauling ass up the backroad to Crown King... I came around a bend to fast and spun the truck out... I was ended up with the rtuck hanging off the cliff when a couple of AZXC members came around the bend... I would never have saved the truck if they had not came by..."

ME:"man i was on that run, those guys met up with our group the next day... small world"

Salesman:"yeah it really is... tell them thanks again"

seriously what are the odds?
the guy Craig, Lee&Shanna, Ivan & Jackel helped in July of 2001 in Crown King AZ is now a Salesman for the nissan Dealer I bought my Truck at...

man its a small world

BTW his girlfriend that was with him was apparently not scraed off by her near death experience... they are now married

That's pretty funny. I still remember that run as if it was yesterday.

He didn't particularly appear the salesman type but maybe she cleaned him up a little along with straightening him up.

Hee hee that is so funny I totally remember the incident. I remember looking at the guy and just thinking "jackass." He is lucky his camper shell wasn't crushed by the original recovery plan.

he was pretty cool.... i think he's gonna be at westX this year as HB nissan is likely gonna sponsor some SWAG for everyone...

Oh I think I saw those pics. I met you guys in Crown King the next day. Wasn't the strap up and over the camper shell?
