I'm down with that, for sure.

Carlton: Is SWXC still doing the 4X4 101 thing?
If so, are there any details?
Thanks.

Mesa Verde is pretty neat but will probably be mobbed this time of year.

Great Sand Dunes National Monument is also cool, but same story. I was actually more impressed by White Sands in NM.

Four Corners is a TOTAL tourist trap. smile

I would allow a bit more time to get to Kansas City from Ouray - that is a 940 mile drive and you'll be more tired than you know. wink

Have a blast!

Is Moab an amusement park? Sure sounds small and easy to get around?

Why would you want to do this, it's just a highway ?

Let me clear that up. Once you leave Telluride, the San Juans are behind you. Nothing but boring hot desert highway all the way to Moab. Nothing to see except a tiny bit of Canyonlands 70 miles to the west.

Wouldn't you rather drive the extra 2 hours to Moab and get in a lot more slickrock riding, and have a ride back ?

Let me explain. I am doing a Hut to Hut ride through the San Juan Mts. No stinking highway for me. This website explains it. www.sanjuanhuts.com
I'll be up in the Mts. communing with nature.

I have a buddy who lives in Dillon. He works for Keystone. He's a bartender by night, rafting guide by day. He and his other guide buddies took us down the Arkansas. It was a blast. Have fun!
