I was on the south bound side and the blue X was on the northbound side (of 295 not 95). I was just curious who lived near me with a well setup X, also what mods have you done to it? Thanks.

Now was this a pre- or post-2002.

Also, was the ARB painted silver? I've seen this guy around but he doesn't have an XOC sticker nor is a member of NJAX.

I almost positive it was a pre '02 and definitely a black ARB. It happened very fast and we were going in opposite directions with a wide median. By the time I realized it was an Xterra worth looking at I was directly across from it and only saw the side and rear. I couldn't have made out the plates even if I attempted to because of the distance. Looked like suspension lift only with 32's, and catback, or at least a nice polished tip.

As I was driving back to work I started dreaming about purchasing a lift again laugh , but my 31's still have a lot of life in them and I haven't seen a 3" lift with BFG AT 31's that I like yet. Oh well I thought it might be someone on XOC.

Stone,
I'm living in Lawrenceville NJ near Princeton.

Do you guys do any trips that are more rock crawling than mud bogging?

Thanks,
Ron

I'm right outside of Bordentown a bit. Used to work in Princeton. Went to a school in Lawrenceville. laugh

Not much rock crawling in NJ. smile

There are usually trips to Paragon, PA for the rock crawling crowd. This past ECXC was at Paragon. I am not too far away from the Pine Barons, so I take occasional Xcursions back there. If you are interested let me know.

Surprised I haven't seen you around.....
Most of the Xterra's I see in the area are all stock.

Have you joined NJAX yet?

I went to Rider in Lawrenceville. Right now I'm working right near Bordentown in Columbus, small world.

My X is stock except for 31 BFG AT's and I removed/sold my step rails. For Xmas I was given a K&N intake and Gibson exhaust (I think I'm exchanging it for a HKS or Borla though).

Thanks for the invite to the Pine Barons, talk to you later.

No shit. So did I!
Plus I live about 5 miles from Columbus! I cannot believe I have not seen your X yet (or you mine). Where in Columbus do you work?

I see you want to put an exhaust system on. Before you put on the exhaust, I got mine done in Hamilton at a place called Mufflex. Over two years ago. They did a pretty good job. Maybe they could put you system on?

Stone,
My buddy also went to mufflex, he was happy with their service.

-How much did your system cost?
-Is it stainless?
-Is it resisting corrosion?
-What brand muffler did they use?
-Single or double exit?

I would like to check out your exhaust sometime before making a decision. I want a single exit in the stock location.

Our company (BMX bicycle manufacturer) has a warehouse right outside of Columbus. I graduated from Rider in 1997.

Thanks,
Ron

The system was a cat-back one and was about $190.00 installed.
The muffler is a stainless Magnaflow one. Very good sound. Not loud and obnoxious. The Flowmaster would have been too loud. It seems to be in good shape still, but I will check it again for you.
No noticably rust as far as I know.
It is a single outlet exhaust in the same location as the stock one. The pipe is a little bigger than stock. 2 1/2" I believe.

Sure, let me know when and where you want to see it.

Where in Columbus? Off of 206? Towards Florence and 130?

I didn't think the 17's would good but they look great, I would lose the side rails though.

Ya bastids! Well don't think they can leave a note while drving Oleg :p

Anyways, I really like that powdercoated grey ARB. That would look really good on my X. I like the grey/Silver combo (well what I envision, his is blue.) Never even knew ARB cataloged one like that.

Miikkaa take note!

Dude, where have you been? ARB has had either a black or silver finish all along :p I actually like the black as a contrast with Silver Ice. As for the Calmini it's nice and it's "grey" matches the X along with the fit but I like the addition of the ARB headlight protection. BTW what sliderz are you looking at? Please PM or email me as I'm curious!!

Maybe NJAX needs some sort of business cards. Nothing great quality, maybe just from those printer cutout ones.

Put the URL, etc. Reminds me I'm almost done with the website.

So tonight I was at a local bar and looked out the window to see the phantom blue X I was asking about pulling into the parking lot.

I went outside to talk to the owner and the following is what I found out according to him [LOL] [Huh?] [Laughing]

- 2001
- 6" Calmini susp lift
- $1000 Calmini bumper
- 32" tires
- He purchased the truck used already built up.

What he really had was:

- 3" Calmini susp lift
- $630 Calmini bumper
- 265/75/16 tires

The guy had absolutely no idea about the truck. He could car less about Xterra's or 4wd trucks, he just knew that he liked the way his X looked. I asked if he visits any of the Xterra webpages and he looked at me like I was crazy.

My friend at work kept telling me about a blue Xterra in the area with "at least 36's" on it, and a "big burly bumper". He was at the bar tonight too and said this is the truck he's been seeing. 32's are quite a bit smaller than 36's though laugh

Strange. But the X I saw had an ARB and the 17" wheels. It's the one Steiny photographed.

Maybe two phantom blue X's?

As far as I know, I'm the only Blue X in NJ with an ARB other than this guy.
