I am interested in purchasing a catback system for my 2004 Xterra provided that the warranty would not be voided with the addition. My problem is that I would like more flow without the added noise. I've already had the loud muscle car phase(68 mustang) and the neighbors hated it. I want the added performance but I would also like to keep close to the factory sound level. Is this at all possible? Are there decible readings for these systems for different rpm ranges as compared to the stock system? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

No warranty problems. Not any noisier than stock

Huh ?
It's quite a bit louder than stock, as are most cat back systems.

The Gibson is pretty quiet. My K&N intake makes more noise than the exhaust. Keep in mind that none of the exhaust systems will do much for you in terms of performance unless you open up the intake end though! laugh

I've never heard the Calmini personally (I don't even think anyone in PNWX has it?), but I've heard from those who have that it makes more noise than the Gibson.

But you're more deaf than I am! :p

It definately is different, but far from "noisy." The sound increase inside the truck is insignificant, but if you roll down the windows you can hear the difference mainly when you're on the gas. Has a meaty sound while idling too. While cruising it's very quiet.

One benefit I found was being able to hear the engine better when it starts to bog at very low RPM. It's much easier to know when to get back on the gas at 0.8MPH and 500 RPM climbing over a rock.
