New for 2005, Yakima has "Universal" mighty mounts.

I wonder if they will be any stronger than the existing plastic ones.

It's hard to get over the fact my $1000 boat is held on with 8 plastic parts.

I use Muffler Clamps for my backup lights and CB radio mount. Seriously considering another option for the CB mount, I don't like the surface rust on the threads. It's ugly!

I only use my MightMounts for the Big Powderhounds. The existing mounts are already so quick and easy to use, you'll hear no complaints from me.

I bought a hitch mounted rack for my bikes...It scares me to see them up there at 80mph...The kayak mount I'll have to live with but those things look sturdier than the old ones... and easier to install.
