A number of folks, myself included, would like to
level out the front of the truck after having added
add-a-leafs or shackles. A full 3" lift might not be
practical for garage height reasons, or concerns
over wear on the steering components. So, the
question is can the Calmini UCAs be used to only
lift 1.5" - 2" and still get the alignment in spec.
In addition, will they hit 15" stock rims without
adjusting the steering stops? I'm hoping I'm only
a step away from a little more front wheel travel.

Scott, you'll need to go at least 2" minimum to get the camber correct with our upper arm. While it's true that you'll get more droop out of the replacement upper arm, I don't think you need to spend the money on arms right now. I would recommend our heavier torsion bars and shocks. You can retrofit it from there if you decide to go the full 3" for both front & rear later.

I'm at the point Calmini suggests now - albeit with SaW t-bars. My next step is probably going to be the Calmini UCAs and steering system, when it's released. I've got about a total of 2" of lift in the front now, and I dare not go higher yet because of the bump stop clearance and wear issues... Of course, after recently leveling out the truck, I changed the back again - so I'm back at the stock rake/angle of the truck. Phooey...

I had the same problem Boarder does where I had installed the AALs and cranked the t-bars, but the front was still (much) lower than the back even with only 1/2" between my front bumpstops. I installed the Calmini UCAs and now I am able to get the front level and I am running the Calmini AAL in the back w/ stock shackles. I have a touch more than 3/4" between my front bumpstops now and the alignment is to spec.

Overall, I have about a 2" lift after everything settled and I can still fit into my garage. I am a happy camper. smile

Good to hear Dandingo - that seems to be the general consensus on the Calmini UCAs (vs. the AC ones, say - and no debating here, please). I'm pretty much sold on those. I'd like to do the steering upgrade while I'm in there, too. I already have the idler arm brace from Calmini.

The back, for me, is finished. 1" shackles and the triple-leaf AALs, both by SLR giving about 3" of lift, plus another .5" out of the TRXUS - so, 3.5" or so over stock. I'm not touching the body lifts... No need, too much trouble.

Send me a side profile shot of your truck if you happen to have one, I'm curious.

I have Calmini UCA's with at least an inch between the stop and arm, and SLR 2" shackles on the rear, it's very level.
I plan to raise it a bit more when I get a new steering setup.

hey CCX, Nice shot of your X, where is that and also what kind of rims and size are those, I'm have the shackles from spencer low I got nearly 1 1/2 years ago and would also like to raise the front up a better way than torqing on the stock T BArs, getting to many squeaks and noises from them.. Do I have to get the new T bars as well when I replace the new Calmini UCA's, or is it just a good idea to do this.. aloha friends

You might want to go for the new t-bars - they really do seem to improve the handling of the truck, and can take tweaking much better over the stock bars.

However, if you only want a little bit of lift (say, 1.5" max) then the stockers should work okay for you.

Yes, it's a good idea to get bigger T-bars, but if you have a stock bumper etc. you could upgrade later. I put in SAW bars before the UCA's because of the ARB.

I have the Calmini UCA's installed on my X and had a perfect alignment done first time!

After installing the Calmini UCA's I can go level as well. I allow a slight rake since I tow a boat and load it up in the rear.
