O.k. The 4 of us coming from the SXFC are meeting in Nashvile, Tn where we will be taking I-40 all the way to where we would go north on Us 191. For anyone out there that travels on I-40, are there any major construction or other areas to expect delays. Also, Us 191 that we head north on, is it a highway where we will be able to make good time on it?
Thanks in advance.

Last I know there was some construction through Arkansas on I40 between Memphis and Little Rock

191 is a highway and you should do well driving it.

Two of us from Texas will be taking I40 for the most part. Want to try and hook-up for a caravan? We have not confirmed dates yet but I /we are pretty flexible I think. Not sure where we get on I40 let me Mapquest it and start finalizeing some plans!

As an FYI..
AZXC (most of us anyways) will be in Flagstaff early morning on the 20th. We'll be leaving Flag on the 40 to head on into Monument Valley and then up to the "Valley of the Gods." We're planning to camp there overnight, and depart in the am to arrive in Moab some 6 hours later. There're several interesting points of interest along the way I'd like to share w/ y'all from the East coast also (Mokee dugway, several Indian ruins, and petroglyphs). If you can meet us that'll be great, we're looking forward to meeting some of you for the first time, and seeing some others again smile .

NOT the official route, but close to it..
1: Start out going NORTH on W SANTA FE AVE / I-40 BL / US-180 / W US-66 / US-89 toward S BEAVER ST. Continue to follow US-89 N. 66.6 miles Map

2: Turn RIGHT onto US-160 / NAVAJO TRL. Continue to follow US-160. 125.7 miles Map

3: Turn LEFT onto US-191. 30.5 miles Map

4: Stay STRAIGHT to go onto S US-191 / S HIGHWAY 191 / MAIN ST. Continue to follow S US-191 / MAIN ST. 0.6 miles Map

5: S US-191 / MAIN ST becomes US-191. 25.3 miles Map

6: Turn RIGHT onto US-191 / E CENTER ST. Continue to follow US-191. 74.6 miles Map

7: Turn RIGHT onto E CENTER ST. <0.1 miles Map

8: End at Moab, UT US Map

Total Est. Time: 6 hours, 21 minutes Total Est. Distance: 323.65 miles

Cool....thanks for the info guys.

Here is our travel itinerary, as I know it now. This may be subject to change or revision....but this is a pretty good idea.

Wednesday, May 17: Florida guys leave out and stop north of Atlanta. They stay there that evening. I may head out and go to Knoxville, TN, that evening.

Thursday, May 18: I will be meeting the Florida guys in Nashville, TN, around noon local time. We will drive onto Little Rock, AR and stay there overnight.

Friday, May 19: We travel onto Oklahoma City and pick up my father and continue west to somewhere between Amarillo and Albuquerque. Stay there.

Saturday, May 20: Finish the drive into Moab.

So if we can meet up with some other travelers, that would be very cool. I look forward to meeting the western (and other areas) folks. Should be a good week, I hope.

What Redx posted sums up our plans. If we could meet up with any of you that would be great. Going through Monument Valley alone is going to be a great site. DBAX, any or all of the items you listed would be great to see, thanks for the invite. [ThumbsUp]

As much as I want to caravn up there, I will be lagging behind, and frankly.......Bren has put the big squish on the idea of camping that Saturday night.
I get off work 8am 4/20, and will be headed out by noon, well behind y'all. I expect to stop in either Mexican Hat at San Juan Inn , then up thru Moki and into Moab Sun.......or cut over to bluff, and stay at Desert Rose Inn
Nothing final yet....still in negotiations with Brenda....lol
Regardless, we will be in Moab on Sunday.....meet you at Rim Village
