As a group the southeast xterra frontier club is trying to get some members together to make the trip to join in the fun next year. with the trip being quite long for some of us we are going to be taking 2 weeks vacation time for the trip. for planning this any input on when the dates for next years Moab trip would be great. Everyone will need the time to mod the truck for this trip, and letting our employer's know far in advance will be important.
thank you.

Does your club have any issues with the same time next year?
It would be May 28th-June 2nd. The other option would be to have it the week before, May 21st-May 27th.

We won't have a date for next year for a few months, but you can never plan too far in advance.

May 28th-June 2nd would suit us fine. this will give us plenty of time to coordinate meet points and get the vacation time turned into our employers.
thank you.

Just my 2 cents on the dates. We were in Moab for part of the week prior to Memorial Day, and it was very sedate in town. We saw few, if any, 4x4's that had to be trailered, and you could actually make a left turn onto the main highway without causing a traffic jam. Friday and Saturday, though, just as we were leaving, the town got noticeably busier; we actually had to wait in line to buy gas!

Arriving back home with an extra day off to relax before getting back to the daily grind was a bonus, too.

Anyway, my personal opinion is that avoiding Memorial Day weekend for the majority of gone is a good idea, but then again, the additional chaos might be just what event attendees crave...

I like including Memorial Day weekend. Any time you include a holiday, that saves days people have to get off from work.

Doug, if you and the other folks who organize this are serious about the smae dates for next year that would be great. Even if I had a date far enough in advance say 2-3 months that would be fine as well, assuming the dates change for next year.

We will most likely have it over the same dates as it worked well for most all.

In the next month or so we will set it in stone.

Thank you. A group of us have already started the movement of prepairing for the trip next year. I'm used to the flat lands down here, so the change in scenery will be nice, so will all the spotting i'll need. wink

p.s. Give Brad (RedX) a call when you can, he is dying to get that SAS done.

Cool....I think those dates will work well. Time for the long ass haul across country to do some offroading in some different terrain.....very cool.

Eh....Carlton doesn't need to ring me....he's a busy chap.....

As for the SAS.....Ken, I think maybe you want me to get it done as badly as I want to.....but yeah, I'm jonesing for that pretty bad. Found my axle....will hopefully pick that up this weekend upcoming and we're off to the races.....well....not the races, but you get the idea..... laugh

So, anyword on the dates for 2006? Everytime I mention it to my wife she asks "what are the dates".

Im working a shit load to get the X ready for another adventure and was curious what sort of time frame I was looking at.

Dont mean to be a pain in the ass just like to plan ahead. wink

Not a problem. We are going to start to plan for 06 starting in August. As it sits now it's going to be the same as this past year.

Thanks for asking.
