#399982 - 18/03/04 07:54 PM Anybody New Attending?

I notice that most of the people attending this year have been to goneMOAB before. Is there anyone with an X who hasn't been there other than myself?
My plan is to take my stock X and follow Jorge from NJAX out to goneMOAB.
I only have 31's with no suspension mods. Hopefully I should have the sliders on by then. Will there be anyone else stock at goneMOAB or my question rephrased is, has anyone stock made it through the whole week?
I saw some of the videos at Moab and it looks awesome.

Thanks
-RJ

This is my first GoneMoab, hell, first trip out west too altogether. [ThumbsUp]
I am far from stock at this point, but I could probably build a stock truck with all of the extra parts I have. laugh

RJ@NJAX, have you even signed up for goneMOAB ?

I show a couple people besides Jorge from the East Coast but none match your profile.

A good 50% or more of people (who bothered to sign up) are new this year.

I wish I could...I just got my ProComp 31" tires put on a couple of weeks ago and I'm dying to use them! I just got engaged, so there are other things that take precedence right now.....Maybe next year!

Im a FNG to gone, and my X is pretty much stock, there are a few mods I have done. Pretty much shit I broke while wheeling before, ie step rails got fucked = calmini sliders, front bumper, fucked=ARB, SLR 2'' rear shakles, well just for the fuck of it and a few other minor things.

I put this question to Ian, and for the most part him and several other "vets" to gone said a stock ride should be ok. Common sence and a good spotter is what I was told are your best mods on the trail.

hope to see you there.

RJ,

The history of stock trucks is short in Moab. I was stock (with sliders) my first trip to Moab. The addiction to modifications begins soon thereafter. I did not even have 31" tires the first time. We went one thanksgiving weekend and had a good time. Each time I go back, I am thousands poorer.

Check out Apwired website of photos.

Look forward to meeting all the first timers.

Todd

Thanks Todd.....that apwired site has some great photos from Moab. I don't think I should have problems with just 31's and I am still waiting delivery on my shrock bars. Jim says he will have them for me before I leave NJ to Moab.
After looking at some of the photos from Moab, it seams like most of the wheelin has no need for 4x4 unless you are up or down the rock walls. Are a lot of you guys constantly in and out of 4 hi 4 lo in Moab? I hate to burn out the gears for all the wrong reasons. It's gonna be a long push home for me if I do the wrong thing. I guess my best bet would be is to listen to those who have been there and done that.

Thanks
-RJ

Q. Do you know what would make my life easier ?

A. If people who were coming to events like goneMOAB would fucking sign-up for events like goneMOAB.

How many other people out there are coming to goneMOAB, but didn't bother to spend 2 minutes filling out the sign-up sheet or ordering a t-shirt ?

I basically have no idea how many people to expect on my trail runs.
I have no idea how many people Steve is going to have with him on the CALMINI Customer Appreciation run, and he has no idea how many shirts to print.
I have no idea how many people are having dinner at the Nissan Pizza Night, so we have no idea the size of reservation we need.

Why do I waste my time ?

I've signed up twice, but just in case:

There are only 2 coming from AZXC now- me and DBAX. We're heading out of Phoenix on the 2nd and leaving Moab on Friday.

Yeah baby!

You signed up here ?
http://www.gonemoab.com/signup.html
Joining a goneMOAB forum Usergroup is not the signup (and you are on the second page of that).

Due to the number of people who said they were coming, then failed to signup, or said they wanted shirts in the forum, but then didn't order, I had extra shirts printed.

Did you get my 2 shirt order?

Put a list up of all the people that are signed up to see if we are on the list. I've signed up twice but now I'm not sure if I'm on the list.

And when is Pizza Night?
And is the Calmini Customer Appreiation run the Golden Spike run?

For the Golden Spike run are full skids and sliders required as well?

Yes, for the reason you stated, and I'm not going to have everyone fill it out again smile

No, because you didn't pre-order them from the order sheet posted 5 weeks ago. You and a few others expressed interest in shirts in the thread where I asked if people wanted them, so I did take that into consideration when I ordered shirts. Everyone else pre-paid with PayPal, the extras I have will be sold in Moab for $20 each.
