I’m the proud owner of a 2002 X. Just bought from a dealership with 43,000miles on it. Had a '98 Pathfinder until it was totaled by a drunk driver.

I bough this truck because of the cargo room. I race mountain bikes so I’m constantly loading up my cars with gear and buddies. We travel up and down the east coast and hardly do any 'off roading'

So I've been searching this site and some others for performance upgrades that might help with gas mileage, horsepower etc. Anything to help with the driving performance of my X.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

You can get a intake and upgrade your exhaust for starters, for a little extra uummmfff! Enjoy your X and hope to see you on the Nexterra board.

Yes it's called Gen II Xterra. Don't plan on getting anything for an '02 that will make you happy. SC would be your best bet for "performance" but other than that do the intake/exhaust combo for a VERY small gain.

You will not find an upgrade that is gonna help both HP and Mileage.

But you can get an after market SC that will push upwards of an additional 90HP from Alpine Developments.

Unfortunately the best upgrade to get is to sell yours and buy a Gen II X. The difference in performance is awesome.
