i have an 02' X 2wd, am i just crazy or should there be a spring or something there other than just a shock??

The two foot long black pole looking thingy that connects the lower control arm to about a third of the way back under your truck is your spring. It's called a torsion bar and you have two. The type of springs you are looking for are called coil springs and the X doesn't have them...yet.

ok thanks, so im not going crazy. how quick do the shocks and torsion bars wear out? cause sometimes when im riding trails, and even on the beach, it hits the stoppers hard enough to tear them up.

They should last a long time though.

ok, i will admit sometimes i am going too fast, but even when im just crawling though stuff it feels the same. should i just spend a little money on the 27'' torsion bars and rancho shocks?
