Dealer flushed the power steering fluid and said nothing appears wrong.

Steering still appears tight for a Power Steering. Its painful at times during long ride.

Any thoughts?

SR.

Go test-drive another 00-04 Xterra and see if it's the same?

I have an '04 that has a leaking steering gearbox that will be repaired under warranty. I have to pay for a power steering flush out of my own pocket - can you tell me about how much that will cost??

Also there is a posting under DEALERSHIPS from Shmitty under Somersworth NH that describes the leaking gearbox problem, and it has a great photo - something you might want to look at.

If the steering box is being replaced under warrenty, why would you have to pay for the flush, it should be part of the repair.

Anyway, it should cost around $50.
