I recently got a ton of work done on the xterra. It started with a front-end squeak that I got fed up with and my local mechanic said that my lower ball joints were shot. I went to Nissan knowing I still had the warranty and they agreed to replace with lower ball joints, front and rear sway bar bushings/links. When they started doing work the parts where so rusted together they had to cut them out which resulted in the list of parts below because they had to replace more than needed (all for free& ). They also found an oil leak on the transfer case real oil seal, which was also replaced under warranty (I had posted about this a few months back because the underside of my car was mysteriously covered in oil). They also replaced the belts, which came out of my pocket. I got the car back today and all I can say is WOW. The car handles incredibly well..nice and tight and responsive..words I didn’t think related to an ’02 xterra. Alright sorry about my long story..on to the point…I looked up the prices of some of the parts and it was already up to around $1,200 or so for only 4 parts, not counting labor. How much money do you think all this work would have cost (the list is below)with labor if it was not under warranty?? I did wind up paying $390 because of a 50$ service charge for EACH job (they broke each repair up into separate parts) but I cant complain.
