#42649 - 02/09/03 05:37 PM question for the Xperts

Recently got my 03 Xterra, shortly after the check engine light came on. The problem was diagnosed as a TCC Solenoid Failure, the write up says the TCC Soleniod was activated but not engaging the torque convertor. The TCC solenoid was then replaced when the part came in a week later.

My question is, was it safe to drive my X with the TCC Solenoid failing? The dealership advised me that my car was fine to drive till the part came in. After getting it repaired I noticed a positive difference in performance of the vehicle. Also, could someone possibly describe in how these two parts interact? Thanks!

Hey,

Thanks for the info. I was noticing higher rpms until I got it fixed, especially after the dealer gave me an 03 X for a loaner while mine was being worked on(noticed this vehichle operated at lower rpms.) A little increase in mpg will be nice to as I put on about 60 miles per day going to and from work. Thanks again!
