Not sure about the actual part number, but they will definitely be interchangeable. Question is, why? If you're replacing the shocks, get some quality aftermarket ones, not another set of marginal stock ones.

Buy the 2001 set they'll fit on the 2003.

I will tell you that the factory 2000-2001 are valved differently than the factory 2002-2003. They are much softer, (read pogo, and wear out quicker). Having said that, it is very likely that any aftermarket shocks will fit the full line of Xterras and not specify by year between the lot. I have a 2002, and a friend has a 2000, both with origional shocks. My front end pogo's like an old Cadillac (SP) compared to his, and he has more miles and an ARB w/ winch up front! Don't buy the factory ones unless they are free, and even then ask for the older part numbers if you must... BTW, if I am all assed out, and the actual factory part numbers ARE the same, I would like to know. Maybe ther is another problem I don't know about.
