hello everyone new to this forum, wondering if anyone has this similar problem with the rear shocks bottoming out on small bumps when i have some weight in the rear, it sounds as though the rear shocks bottom out and hit my differential or something, what do you all recommend to fix this...

Try reading these:

About fixing it using bump stops

You can also do an ALL

There a lot in www.thenewx.org BTW this is very common. I had it and fixed it by adding a leaf.

AC sell a 3-leaf AAL that will also give you 3" of lift in the rear.

Your shocks are not the problem. Your springs are weak, and they are hitting the bumpstops. To fix this, some people have installed Timbren bumpstops. Others have added an add a leaf (AAL).

I had a local spring shop add two full size leafs to each rear spring pack. The X will ride stiffer with the AAL. I don't mind because I routinely have a load in the X and/or am towing a trailer.

I went the AAL route to fix this issue in my 06 off road. Unfortunately this created a vibration in my unit between 25 and 35 mph which was very irritating. My local dealer advised me that they had a bulletin out on this and could install spacers on the rear axle under warranty to fix this. I had this done and it reduced the vibration, but did not eliminate it. I now have to decide whether to live with the remaining vibration or return my X to stock. I really like the improvement in the ride with the AAL installed.

Night Stalker, my local spring shop had de-arched my springs after they put the AAL in, so that my rear end only came up about 1". Luckily, I have had no vibration (about 20K miles so far).

I may have to try that out and see if it works. My local Nissan dealer stated that they had a bulletin on this issue, and it stated that for some unknown reason this vibration only shows up on certain vehicles and not others.
