So my ride bounces and jostles much more than ever. How can I make my long trips less bone shattering? BTW, I'm doing this to compensate for the offset or backspacing of my rims.
1) aftermarket torsion bars?
2) lower profile bump stops?
3) get Bilsteins?
4) other suggestions?

I've also heard that the t-bar lift makes your steering go to shit. Difference between 4x2 and 4x4's? Will an idler arm brace or a total steering upgrade help? Thanks.

Initial torsion bar "placement" has been varied from the factory, so be sure you didn't raise it so the upper bumpstop is resting on the a-arm (or way too close). With no downtravel you'll probably blow your cerebral cortex after just a few bumps.

Better shocks can obviously make a huge difference.

A total steering upgrade (or an idler arm brace) isn't going to improve the quality of your ride...unless your steering has already gone to hell.

Yep, sounds like you've gone too high. Maybe try taking 2 or 3 turns out of the bars and see if it helps. Otherwise, you need to get a proper front end lift. What's happened is you've cranked up tot he bumpstops probably, but you also decrease the ride quality by changing the angle of the upper and lower control arms and messing up the alignment.

Hey Trichi, I'll be around on Sunday if you want to bring your X up to Rogers. I'll take a look at it for you.

Just be careful with the torsion bars. I had mine cranked up on purpose and rode them that way for a year. The result was a worn out stock steering system at 32,000 miles.

If you did it on accident then just lower them when you get a chance. If you did it on purpose just get a lift and beefier steering.

Good luck.
