They made my X pretty "jittery" on small irregularities on the road, but they soak up the larger/longer stuff very well, especially when loaded down. If you're not going to work 'em hard, go with something softer.

I just recently put a set of Bilstein's on my X with 20% stiffer up front and OEM valving in back to compensae for when I get my ARB on....But if your not planning on wheeling your X alot or if your not planning on throwing on the extra weight of and ARB then I'd have to aggre with Brent and say get the regular Bilstein's instead...

Thanks Gang! good info! Not a full time 4 wheeler as such...just in to being able & prepaired..then I'm going to assume that the reg Bilstien's are superior to stock?

Most of the backroads around here are gravel, and by this time of year they're full of washboards. I've gotta say, the stiffer Bilsteins do make it a bitch to drive over - but then, its not a very pleasant surface to traverse to begin with.

I have the Bils 20% stiffer in front and the "Heavy Duty" (stiffer) in back. I did this because I knew I would have steel all around, and the tire carrier adds alot of wheight to the rear.

The ride when the truck is empty is fine. At hight speeds I do notice the "bumpy" feel as you can feel everything on the road.

All around: I am happy with them!

It seems like my X is getting heavier by the week so I love my Bils.
