Guys, it's amazing that a family with such a history in the sport took and brought me in. Thanks for your positive comments. I am obviously thrilled that I have this chance.

I am going to hit the ground running at Laughlin and it's going to be a very steep learning curve. With so much to learn and so much to do there's never going to be a dull moment. Like I said, earlier, I have been staring at my cieling thinking of all the things I have to do and it's a bit overwhelming. All I can do is take things on one task at a time and do the best I can.

I am definately looking forward to the challenge.

Patrick,
So how is the new "Great Adventure" after your first week there? Is it for real yet?

It's become very very real. It's a big difference between being a fan and seeing a race and a team in action and being exposed to the work and realities of a top tier race team.

By the way. If anyone here is a marketing executive for a corporation that would like to link itself with a major motorsports team in a series that is on the rise please let me know. I would love to send you our sponsorship/media kit. Imagine linking yourself to NASCAR 30 years ago or Supercross 10 years ago. CORR racing is an outstanding value in motorsports and hitching yourself to our stars now will only benefit in the future as the series grows.

Godaddy.com ? laugh

Patrick.

I always said that I would post new and cool news here first:

Ricky Johnson Returns To Championship Off Road Racing

Newport Beach, Ca. (February 5 , 2007) - Ricky Johnson announced Saturday night in front of a packed Supercross crowd at Anaheim Stadium, that he would be returning to Championship Off Road Racing. Johnson, a Baja, Supercross and one time CORR™ Pro 2™ Champion, has joined Baldwin Racing. Returning to the track for the full 2007 CORR™ season, Johnson, who provides color commentary for the CORR televised broadcasts, will be stepping out from behind the microphone and into an 850 horsepower Baldwin Racing prepared Pro 2™ truck.

“Driving the trucks for the television broadcast reminded me how intense it is competing in this series,” said Rick Johnson. “When I had the chance to race in last years Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup, I realized that I needed to get back into a full time ride.”

Along with his 1998 CORR™ Pro 2™ Championship, Johnson also has earned seven AMA/Supercross and motocross championships and multiple SCORE Baja 500 and 1000 victories in both motorcycle and truck classes. Johnson has also raced in the NASCAR Craftsmen Truck Series, ASA Pike’s Peak Hill Climb and was named 1999 ASA Stock Car Series Rookie of the Year.

“CORR racing combines the high flying excitement of Supercross with the door slamming action of stock car racing,” said Johnson. “To me, it is the most exciting form of racing out there right now and I can’t wait to get back into it. There’s nothing you can’t do in a CORR™ truck.”

Johnson joins Pro 4™ driver Josh Baldwin to form a formidable alliance for the upcoming 2007 CORR series. “With all of his experience, Ricky brings an incredible amount of talent and knowledge to the team,” declared Baldwin. “With him driving the Pro 2™ and myself in Pro 4™, Baldwin Racing is looking to make an impact this season.”

Baldwin Racing competes professionally in the Championship Off Road Racing series as well as the premier Trophy Truck class in the SCORE International desert racing series.

I got to know Ricky back in 1991, he drove for Chev/ Nelson and Nelson. I was the mechanic for Tommy Croft on the Mike Lesle Jeep team. We flew together a few times, he is a first class guy. Tell him I wish him good luck and hello for me, will you?

I don't think we have a deal with shocker gloves. And so far at the races I haven't really had the chance to "hang out" with anyone. It's amazing how much really goes on at a race.

Is it not BJ Baldwin on the front page of Dirt Newz.com wearing the Shocker glove and being contratulated by the shocker glove company?

B.J. is of the Las Vegas Baldwins. Different Baldwin. Those guys are driving the Bill Savage trophy trucks and don't race CORR. They operate out if the Collins/Ragland/Baldwin team.
