Maybe I overlooked it, but I can't seem to find a number for how many quarts the 4.0 takes. Can anyone help me out here?

With a filter change, the VQ40 holds 5 3/8 quarts of oil. With any luck, someone will fabricate a pan spacer that'll pick up that last 5/8ths and let us just use six quarts on the button, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Or find a way to use a slightly larger oil filter.

I know it recommends 5.3, but mine took a full 6 quarts to get to the top of the dipstick.

With a filter change, mine only took 5.0 quarts to go half way between the marks on the dipstick.
