So for those that had your Rear Main Seal fixed by the dealer, how many had to have it re-repaired?

Mine was fixed 3 weeks ago, and I have that tell-tale single oil drop again hanging from the bell housing.

Can I have another dealer fix it? I have had too many screw ups with the dealer that fixed the RMS and I don’t trust them to even change the oil on my truck. Will the other dealer be able to get paid via Nissan’s Powertrain Warranty even though the first dealer screwed up?

Chances are that it wasn't the RMS leaking to begin with, but in fact, the oil pan at the left rear portion of the sealing surface.

Common mistake among rookie techs, go with the quick diag.

They need to reseal the oil pan, unless, and this is just speculation, they rolled the seal for the RMS and f.u.b.a.r.'d it.

Take it back to them, and have them figure it out. A reputable dealership will take of you.
