I am currently looking for an Xterra, what should I be looking for? Probably 2000, 2001... must be a 5speed...

I really dont know them that well, what should I be looking for? is there somthing better than others?? somthing to avoid??

We are buying it to use as a daily driver, it will also be used for camping and mild to medium 4X4...

I currently have a fully modded Ford Bronco that is my off road toy....

Keep in mind the HP you are moving from in your bronco and what you are Getting in the X.

Nothing negative just look at how it has been maintained. And the usualls when you buy a vehicle.

Oohhhhh.... Just in case make sure the Fuel Sender Unit has been at least checked for a warranty recall.

Yeah... the bronco has over 350HP now too....
I will be keeping it and getting the Xterra as a daily driver...

I will still probably put 2" BL 1.5" PML, 33s, I like the sounds of cams, TB and all that too... may be an option

We will actually be looking at 02s...

Here are some thoughts I have had...

1) whats up with the 5 speed? I have seen some bad posts about them on here...
2)are they still bad for cracking manifolds/manifold bolts breaking?
3) any other common probmes I shoud be aware of???

Auto or Manual they all break em... Just more people seem to wheeling manual so I think that has something to do with it.

With the 02+ you can get a supercharger... BUT you have to use a higher grade of gas.



OH Have the codes pulled and check the Knock sensor. This problem happens and it does NOT turn on the SES light. Just no sense in you paying for the work if you can get the dealer/seller to.
